Why Do I Need to Read the Bible?
After all, I know the story: God came to earth in the form of a man, died on the cross, rose again, I’m saved, the end. Exactly why do I need to read the Bible?
Jerry Vines answers: “When I read the Bible, God talks to me. When I pray, I talk to God.” (Exploring 1-2-3 John, pp.195-196)
That’s your answer! A relationship requires two-way communication, and in our relationship with God, we talk to God when we pray, and He talks to us when we read His Word. God will Sometimes put a question in our heart, and as we turn through the pages of His Word, out jumps the answer. God wants for us to seek Him, and He lets us find Him through His Word.
