How to Overcome any Trial.

How to Overcome any Trial.

Peter had denied Christ, but beforehand, Jesus was well aware of what would happen, and instead of feeling wounded and betrayed, He was focused on intercessory prayer: “‘Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded permission to sift you like wheat; but I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail; and you, when once you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.’” (Luke 22:31-32)

Jesus could do this because He has a heart of gold. But when we face a trial, we could easily fake it, and the problem-heart lies hidden and unreformed. So how do you reform your heart? How do you build and develop a godly heart, like a bodybuilder who builds up a muscle? Simple: you exercise. When you are wronged, go from the Prosecution to the Defense. Plea to God on their behalf, in that whatever wrongs that they have done against you, not be held against them, and that God forgive them, just as He has forgiven you. Then go on the Defense, as Jesus did, and offer up a defense for them. Jesus excused the Jews behavior as not knowing what they were doing. Simply follow Christ’s pattern. This will not only heal you, but will also invoke God’s grace into their lives.

Question:  What was Jesus’ greatest trial, and how did He overcome it?
Luke 23:34  “But Jesus was saying, ‘Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.’ And they cast lots, dividing up His garments among themselves.

1) He forgave them.
2) He defended them.

If you can forgive someone, and immediately engage in intercessory prayer, then you can overcome like Jesus did, because it places the focus on love for others, rather than the offense upon one’s self.
