Matthew 10:5-7
These twelve Jesus sent out after instructing them: “Do not go in the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter any city of the Samaritans; but rather go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’”
Question: So how would that be true of those that God allegedly doesn’t love, allegedly passed by for grace, and allegedly predestined for something other than the “kingdom of heaven”? Would the preacher be lying to such people? How would the kingdom of heaven be at hand for an alleged non-elect people?
Answer: Calvinism would require a nuanced understanding to Jesus’ statement. If Jesus didn’t die for everyone, and there exists an alleged non-elect caste, who have no Savior who died for them, then how would the kingdom of heaven be even remotely at hand for them? Reasonably, the disciple’s target audience would have to have a Savior’s atonement in order for Jesus’ instruction to hold true, and hence, the Calvinist doctrine of a Limited Atonement is incongruent.
