James 2:13

James 2:13
For judgment will be merciless to one who has shown no mercy; mercy triumphs over judgment.

According to Calvinism, the reason why God decreed to create some for Heaven and the rest for Hell is because God desired to display both His wrath and His mercy in order to fully glorify Himself.

However, this verse presents a problem for Calvinists, since if according to the Bible that “mercy triumphs over judgment,” then God would be missing out on a greater form of glory by making a lesser display of His glory when choosing to decree to show wrath to the majority of humanity. So it would seem that according to Calvinism, the opposite of the Bible occurs: wrath triumphs of mercy.

If Calvinism were true, then God would be receiving far less glory for Himself by “passing over” the Reprobates, leaving them in their sins and thereby damning them. If “mercy triumphs over judgment,” then God defeats Himself when He sovereignly chooses judgment over mercy.

Here is what Calvinists need to ask themselves:
Did the father of the prodigal son choose for his
son to leave? What was the father’s choice? The
reality is that when his son left, it was not the
father’s will being done, but the son’s will being
done. Similarly, when people enter into judgment,
then is not God’s will being done, but rebellious
man’s will being done. God, for His part, choose
mercy over judgment.
