Question: If the alleged non-elect have neither Savior nor Atonement for which they may be saved, then how can Calvinists explain how God is speaking of an opportunity for which He may be “found,” and a time for which He is “near”?
Answer: Calvinists would have to engage in Special Pleading, by insisting that this passage only involves the Calvinistically elect. Furthermore, this passage speaks of a choice being made, and yet according to Calvinism, it is God, rather than man, who chooses when He will be irresistibly “found.” In other words, this becomes a needless warning passage, in which for the Calvinistically elect, He is as good as already found, and in secret, never far away, whereas for the alleged non-elect, He is never close, and can never be found. For the Calvinistically elect, God finds them first, through pre-emptive Regeneration, and He is “near,” before they ever “call” upon Him.
