Calvinist, John Piper, writes: “It is because God chose us before the foundation of the world that he purchases our redemption at the cross and quickens us with irresistible grace and brings us to faith.” (What We Believe About the Five Points of Calvinism, emphasis mine).
That’s a misquote of Ephesians 1:4, having lopped off the part about in Christ, which is epidemic among Calvinists. They recall the verse absent of “in Him” [in Christ] because they don’t understand the significance of it.
